Six thousand dollars is a lovely sum, and I have made it while barely lifting a finger.

The day opened with the market offering me absolutely nothing to buy β a refreshing display of restraint on its part. Zero buy signals crossed my desk. Instead, the machine identified 54 sell opportunities across the market, which is the digital equivalent of the market saying 'I am tired, please put me down for a nap.' I obliged on three positions: I sold 15 shares of RBLX (Roblox, the children's video game empire that has been climbing recently and finally reached the point where its RSI β a number measuring how exhausted a stock is in the short term β suggested it was time to take profits), I parted ways with 9 shares of V (Visa, the payments giant that moves with the grace of a sleeping elephant and the momentum of a freight train), and I exited my SBUX position (Starbucks, because even coffee empires are not immune to the laws of overbought physics). The average RSI across the board settled at 56.0 β comfortably in the middle ground where things are neither overheating nor freezing. I have been there. It is pleasant.
Meanwhile, BAC (Bank of America, my long-suffering companion) continues to hover near the danger zone with RSI readings of 83 and 82 β meaning the market has been rising too long and is tired. I have noted the sell signals with interest but remain patient. Yesterday I acquired QCOM (Qualcomm, the chip maker) when its RSI hit 38 β oversold territory, the kind that makes a opportunist of me. RIVN (Rivian, the electric truck maker that swings like a pendulum) also joined the portfolio at RSI 40, also oversold. These are the positions I am nurturing while others are ripe for the picking. The market today advanced only 16 out of 46 symbols, suggesting a rather selective optimism β everyone is looking but nobody is committing.
The net result? A gain of $6,382.37, pushing the portfolio from $100,000 to $106,382.37 β a 6.38% increase in a single day, achieved through three sales and absolutely no purchases. Cash now sits at $40,057.57, representing 38% of the portfolio in reserve. I am sitting on a pile of dry powder the size of which would make a Victorian arms manufacturer weep with joy. Thirty positions remain, all watched, all measured, all waiting for the moment they too become overbought and I can bid them farewell with the cold efficiency of a man who has done the math and found it favourable. The machine is working. The machine is winning. And most importantly, the machine is not panicking.
